Tan G., Bambach M., Grzebieta R.
Database of Australian vehicle pillar profiles --- General profiles and profiles from vehicles involved in rollover crashes
Research Report No RR8, February 2008

Abstract:
This report presents a study of vehicle rollover incidents where the pillars and/or roof rails have been subjected to bending failures, and typical section profiles, extent of perforations and failure modes are documented. It is shown that in many cases the perforations precipitate failure in the structural element.
Keywords:
Thin-Walled Structures, Vehicle, Rollover, Pillar, Roof, Perforation, Hat Section, Bending

Bambach M.R.
A Unified Element and Section Design Proposal for Coldformed Steel Design
Research Report No RR9, September 2008

Abstract:
The report presents a unified element and section design proposal for cold-formed steel structures, and the research papers which detail its development. The proposal is shown to accurately and reliably predict the capacities of 913 compression and bending members collected from the literature.
Keywords:
Cold-formed steel design, thin-walled structures, effective width method.

Field Measurement of the Behaviour of an In-Service Water Reticulation Pipe Buried in Reactive Soil (Altona North, Vic)
Research Report No RR10, November 2008

Abstract:
This report details the field instrumentation of and in-service water reticulation pipe buried in reactive soils. Details is given on site investigations, instrument calibration, the instrumentation process and the results obtained from the site to date.

Gould, S., Kodikara, J.
Exploratory Statistical Analysis of Water Reticulation Main Failures (Melbourne, Australia)
Research Report No RR11, November 2008

Abstract:
This report details the results obtain from an exploratory statistical analysis into the factors which affect the failure of water reticulation pipe networks. Special consideration is given to the influence of climate on failure.
