Institution of Engineers
The Institution of Engineers, Australia, is a learned society that caters for the professional needs of engineers through learned journals, technical news, technical and general conferences, presentation of technical papers, discussion groups, technical committees, technical standards in some areas, ethics, accreditation of courses, recognition of foreign qualifications, advice to governments, and kindred matters. It is a very large organisation, with membership of about 60,000 practising engineers, and nearly 1900 student members.
