Following the success of the two International Symposiums of Transport Simulation which were held in Japan and Switzerland, Monash University, the University of South Australia and the University of Queensland will host the next symposium to be held on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. This symposium will bring together leading engineers and scientists in the transport simulation field worldwide.
The ISTS series focuses on the latest advanced research on modeling and applications of transport simulation, including simulation of vehicle movements, dynamic simulation of traffic flow on transport networks, pedestrian simulations in urban areas, and freight simulations. The ISTS series is the main gathering for the world's transportation and traffic academics and practitioners, and those who are interested in contributing to or gaining a deeper understanding of the transport simulation field. This symposium will stress scientific challenges and issues raised by new theoretical development in the traffic and transport fields as well as Intelligent Transportation Systems.
The symposium will include invited presentations, submitted formal paper presentations, and discussion sessions. English is the official language of the symposium.
For the first time in the ISTS series, high quality selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the journal Transportation Research Part C to be published after the symposium.
In addition there will be a practitioner's forum . This forum is designed to attract practitioners who are involved in using micro-simulation for practical projects where there is a strong innovation dimension.
