Research:

Tony has particular expertise and research interest in integrated environmental management of water systems and was formerly the leader of the Urban Stormwater Quality research program of the Cooperative Research Centre for Catchment Hydrology in Australia.  Tony’s principal research and technical design contribution to stormwater treatment elements such as gross pollutant traps, constructed wetlands, bio-retention systems and the development of the Model for Urban Stormwater Improvement Conceptualisation (MUSIC) (software widely used to develop strategies for integrated urban water cycle management in Australia) has resulted in over 100 international journal and referred conference papers, and a number of national and international invited keynote addresses.  The outcomes and insights from his research contributions are increasingly being adopted by industry as standard designs in numerous development and redevelopment projects across Australia, and have led to state and national water management guidelines for advancing the contemporary practice of Water Sensitive Urban Design.
