Research:
An Integrated Approach to Modelling Urban Water Systems

The development of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies requires a new approach to modelling the water consumption, wastewater generation, energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with urban water systems. This research project is focused on developing a new modelling methodology capable of simultaneously determining each of these results for a complete urban water system, thus revealing the context of each result. This is in contrast to the piecemeal approaches typically currently taken, where each urban water system component is considered in great detail, but in isolation from the rest of the system.
