Short Resume:
Dr Shushil Bhandari is currently Director (Academic) of the JIET School of Engineering and Technology at Jodhpur, India and Director of the Earth Resource Centre, India and Australia. He has 40 years experience in teaching, in the mining and explosives industry in India, Australia and Oman. He was Professor of Mining Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, JNV University, Jodhpur for 25 years. This position also included additional responsibilities as Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Head, Department of Mining Engineering and Director, Educational Media Research Centre during various periods.
Dr Bhandari is one of the world leaders of rock blasting. His book “Engineering Rock Blasting Operations” published by AA Balkema (Netherlands) is the recommended book for mining/engineering courses in well established universities in USA, Mexico, Turkey, Korea and Australia. He has been a member of the International Organising Committee of the Fragblast Symposium for 15 years and has been regional co-editor of the Int. J. of Rock Fragmentation by Blasting. He is also a member of the education committee/rock fragmentation of the Int. Society of Rock Mechanics. He has been a member of the Int. Organising Committee of the Asia Pacific Symposium on Blasting.
